The Rooms Le Vatout has three guestrooms. Like our feathered friends after whom we’ve named them, they’re simple and homey, with flashes of decoration that will delight you every time you stay. The beds are good - we've tried them out ourselves - and in the winter we provide you with flannel sheets and hot water bottles. You have a choice of down or hypoallergenic pillows and thick, soft towels are guaranteed year-round. Each room has comfortable chairs and reading lamps and is filled with art and books and found objects. There's a small TV in the dining area, so you won't have to miss out on sports and the news, and wireless internet access throughout the building. Warm and bright, with three windows, two of which let in the evening sun, the Goldfinch is on the ground floor. It is the former parlor of the house, has elaborate moldings, a private bathroom and a walk in closet. The bed, a beautiful mahogany four-poster family heirloom is a traditional full, but sleeps two people comfortably. Rates: June 12 to Oct 20: $119 (Off-season: $99) The Chickadee and the Nuthatch are on the second floor - perching high up under the eaves, they share a bathroom. Both have two single beds each, old fashioned built ins and original wide pine floors. They have a southern exposure and sunlight streams into these charming rooms almost all day long. Rates: June 12 to Oct 20: $95 (Off-season: $85)	The Fine Print We try to run Le Vatout as a green inn. We recycle and use environmentally safe cleaning products, CFL bulbs and bulk dispensers for soap and shampoos. Sheets and towels are re-used and only changed every three days - unless, of course, you request a change sooner - and our laundry features energy efficient front loaders. We compost every scrap of organic matter. Our garden and its herbs and produce are organic. Bread and eggs are locally produced and the house is smoke-free. All room rates are double occupancy and include a full breakfast. Check-in time is 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Check-out time is 11:00 am. Sorry, no pets. But you may borrow ours. We welcome children over the age of twelve. Add 7% Maine Lodging Tax to all rates. We guarantee your reservation upon receipt of a 50% deposit. We accept Mastercard, Visa, traveler's and personal checks, or cash. We're just a small B&B and cancellations can throw us for a loop. Please understand that if you cancel within fourteen days of your arrival date, you will be responsible for the full amount due - unless we can fill the room otherwise.
